Everyday Vilnius in Nordbaltic Incubator’15
For the third time in a row Nordbaltic Incubator has invited young filmmakers to learn about documentary filmmaking and to shoot their own short documentaries.
This year Nordbaltic Incubator focused on Polish documentary filmmakers’ experiences. Film critic Izolda Keidošiūtė gave the introductory lecture on Polish cinema, which was followed by film screenings. Lodz Film School Film and Television Faculty vice dean Slawomir Kalwinek led the creative workshop. During the practical part of Nordbaltic Incubator’15 more than 40 young film professionals have created seven short documentaries on everyday Vilnius. The participants had chosen different topics of their films in which they portrayed shoemaker, lives of the poor, artists Gintautas Trimakas, Saulius Vaitiekūnas and Saulius Slavinksas.
According to S. Kalwinek, all teams had shown a great knowledge of filmmaking and in ten days they did the impossible – they managed to shoot creative short films.
During this workshop the participants had a chance to work with AMII filming equipment and they had received some help from AMII team of technicians.
